News Briefs: Pharmaceutical companies Abbott and Alcon Laboratories, are now partnering with Litco to meet their BP-free transit packaging pallet requirements through the company’s Inca presswood pallet; iGPS has appointed Phil Prain, Jr. as the new chief technology officer of the company; Timber supplies at mills in the Northwest United States have been growing, which could improve lumber prices in the region; U.S. Business inventories saw an increase in June with a total of $1,580.3 billion, up 0.1% from May and up 5.0% from June 2011, according to the U.S. Census Bureau; Connecticut has become the 16th state to detect the emerald ash borer (EAB) within its borders, finding the pest in Prospect, Conn.
